Kevin O’Neill is a partner in the law firm of Byrne & O’Neill LLP located in downtown New York City where he specializes in a variety of legal services. With nearly 25 years of experience in a number of construction legal disciplines, Kevin is a thought leader in the space. With experience in New York, New Jersey, and Federal courts he is well versed in the wide coverage of legal matters, even appearing before arbitration panels and administrative tribunals.
On an advisory level, Kevin takes great pride in working closely with his clients to negotiate and draft contracts for construction and transaction terms as well as high-level corporate issues. As partner in his firm, Kevin’s specialty comes within supporting his design professional clients, representing them from trial to appeal across Federal, NY, and NJ court systems. Serving as an advocate for design professionals, Kevin O’Neill has written for and spoken within public forums regarding key topics from risk management and site safety, to contract verbiage and dispute-resolution methods.
Kevin and Michael Byrne’s leadership style has been communicated throughout Byrne & O’Neill LLP to cultivate the relationship between lawyer and client. Having a strong working relationship with clients is important to Kevin along with his entire firm, to ensure that communication remains at a premium to best represent each case. Kevin O’Neill received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University with a major in Philosophy before attending St. John’s University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 1987. After graduating from St. John’s, Kevin joined the law firm of Congdon and Flaherty before joining the law firm of Morris Duffy. Kevin served as an attorney in both firms before teaming up with Michael Byrne to open this current practice, Byrne & O’Neill LLP.
